L.S.C.S.W.
Ingrid is a bilingual therapist who has lived
in Wichita Kansas for the past 28 years. She completed an

in 1992, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wichita State
University in 1994 and a Master of Social Work degree from The
University of Kansas in 1996. Ingrid was born in Guatemala
City, Guatemala and she has lived in Kansas longer than in her
country of birth; consequently, she considers Kansas her only
home. Ingrid believes that relationships matter and that we can
always do better if we are willing to ask for help and are
willing to receive help.
Ingrid has been a Licensed Specialist
Clinical Social Worker since 2000. Ingrid has over ten years
experience in providing psychotherapy services in Sedgwick
County, including experience working for COMCARE Outpatient
Services and Catholic Charities Counseling Services now
known as Community Counseling Services. She is Bilingual in
Spanish and English. She has over 4 years experience in
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Dialectical Behavioral
Therapy is very effective in helping people improve their
ability in developing, improving, and maintaining healthy
relationships with themselves and others they care
about.
Over the past 10 years, Ingrid has
provided individual, couples, family, and marriage therapy.
Ingrid’s experience has been that working with adults who
are motivated and willing to accept that sometimes change is
needed, and are willing to follow through with the needed
changes, can bring about a successful outcome during therapy
treatment and after therapy treatment.
Ingrid has worked with children and
adolescents in the past and she is actively improving her
Play Therapy knowledge and skills in order to continue to
work effectively with children and adolescents now and in
the future. She finds Play Therapy as an effective medium
for giving children the opportunity to express their
feelings and needs in a way that is natural and fun for
them.
Ingrid is experienced in providing therapy
for depression; anxiety; trauma; grief and loss/forgiveness
and acceptance issues; self-esteem; effective communication
skills building; mediation/conflict resolution and problem
solving skills for couples, families, and individuals;
